New Jersey Association for helping the Indians records, 1757

1757

The New Jersey Association for Helping the Indians, while it has a Constitution and motto (Isaiah 58:6, 7, 9), never went any further than that. Its intention was to help Native Americans in New Jersey get two thousand acres to live and work on. This collection contains two copies of the Constitution for the New Jersey Association for Helping Indians, 1757. One copy has signatures of subscribers who gave money for the cause, including John Woolman. The other copy was found among records at Haddonfield Monthly Meeting, Haddonfield, New Jersey.
